The 5th International Guitar Competition and Festival “Guitar Time” will be held in Moscow with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

The international line-up of artists and the jury of the competition from Russia, Turkey, Spain, Mexico and China will be headed by Turkish guitarist Ayşegül Koca, professor at the University of Music and Fine Arts in Ankara. The jury will be co-chaired by Mexican guitarist and composer Mauricio Díaz Álvarez. Auditions will be held from November 27 to December 1, 2024 in Moscow. This is the only competition in Russia where the best compositions of modern composers are selected annually, published and included in the mandatory program of the competition, updating the professional repertoire of guitarists. Since the existence of the competition-festival in 2019, over 500 guitarists and composers from 20 countries have taken part in it. For the first time, children and students from music schools and universities of the DPR and LPR will participate at the expense of the grant.

The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes, 5 handmade concert guitars, strings, and other professional guitar accessories from the festival partners. The winners of the "Time of the Guitar" competition will perform in concert programs of the Moscow International Association of Guitar Art. The opening of the festival can be attended on November 27 in the Roman Catholic Cathedral. Concerts for guitar with a symphony orchestra will be performed in magnificent acoustics. Chamber concerts with the participation of world stars of guitar art will be held in the Niko Gallery and in the Anglican Church of St. Andrew.

The organizer of the "Time of the Guitar" competition-festival is the Moscow International Association of Guitar Art.
