03.03.2016 Edition EURASIAT'X  has published interview of the President of the MCCI Italian Commission Mr. K. V. Krokhin, devoted to Russian-Italian inter-regional cooperation.

In his address Mr. K. V. Krokhin spoke about the opportunities for Italian entrepreneurs on the Russian market, about the needs of Italian technology and innovations in the field of engineering, petrochemicals, infrastructure and public transport system.

Mr. Krokhin paid a lot of attention to the development of relations in the field of tourism, as the current exchange rate of the Ruble to the Euro makes trips of Italians to Russia inexpensive, and well-developed hotel network and convenient connections of flights from Italy to Russian regions make these trips comfortable and interesting.

For an example of a promising and mutually beneficial cooperation Mr. K. V. Krokhin elaborated on the plans of development of relations between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Lombardy region, which in January of current year proposed to sign Cooperation Agreements in the fields of economy, sports, culture and tourism.

In addition to new tourism opportunities, such cooperation will allow regions to intensify the creation of joint ventures in domain of manufacture and processing of agricultural and petrochemical products, manufacturing of equipment for agriculture, gas and oil production. Mr. Krokhin also focused on special opportunities in the field of production of high quality cheese in Bashkiria with the use of Italian methodology and expertise what also can be applicable with meat products, as the Republic is the one of the prime locations in Russia for production of milk and meat. Technology transfers in these areas promises substantial profits to the Italian entrepreneurs, mainly because of   the industrial regions surrounding Bashkortostan, which are the natural consumers of the products of agriculture.

Mr. Konstantin Krokhin spoke in detail on tax incentives and other tools to support foreign investment in the real sector of the economy, for example - in the Bashkortostan region. The reduction income tax rates, exemption from property tax, provision of soft loans and subsidies, adherence to energy facilities, transfer of production facilities for free use under investment Agreement with some objectives - here is an incomplete list of things, that might interest Italian businessmen in Russian region. 

K. V. Krokhin drew attention to the fact that Russia in general as well as Russian regions in particular, feel the need to modernize the industrial, transport and many other areas in which Italy is traditionally strong. Therefore he also expressed confidence that economic cooperation between the two countries has all chances not only to return to the previous level, but also significantly increase all figures after overcoming sanctions barriers.

Among the other capabilities, there was covered such issue as the use of Italian technology and innovations in the field of energy conservation and logistics.
